For sure a good deal on a nice looking 9mm. Wife was really interested in that one, but felt the exposed hammer was not going to work for her for CC. Has a rep of wanting good ammo, too. Has problems with some range load type ammo, apparently.

You say they both have 7 round "clips"? What exactly is a "clip", cause I thought we called them magazines around here? Lol

Come on man! You gotta make us look better than that! Wink

Out here in California you would be lucky if you can get something that shoots more than 5 bullets without a fixed mag. Basically better off throwing rocks out here in cali

Never use steel casing on a gun. The metal expands when hot and jams easy. Always load full metal jacket and you won't have the issue, or as common.

I used that cheap Tula steel casing ammo at the range every weekend for years. I've never had a FTE or FTF once. Both 9mm and .40, I'd say it speaks to the gun more than the ammo though.

Oh man! I'm sorry! Frown The states that are doing this are pathetic and should be ashamed of themselves! Anyways, I was just poking fun at ya, but hopefully you guys and gals an win some of the fights that are heading your way... I live in Michigan and they are on the verge of passing a few bills that are PRO gun, so I'm glad I live in a free state, the way it should be for ALL Americans!

Exactly! If a gun can't run ALL types of ammo than find a different gun! You aren't always going to have the luxury of getting the ammo you may want...

Kimbers are PICKY as hell! They also have a ONE year warranty in an industry where a lifetime warranty is fairly standard. I own a Kimber Micro 9mm in Desert Tan and I grabbed that from Cabela's when it was on a solid deal at $529. They are very nice guns as far as fit and finish go, but will not be using a Kimber for any type of self defense carry. Any gun that is THAT picky with ammo is just NOT the gun I will be packing to defend my family.

It definitely is not just limited to Kimbers, a lot of different guns have issues with different ammo types. Even some of the best manufacturers make guns that don't like the taste of steel cased ammo. In fact, some warranties will be voided if you even use that crap... But I do think that any gun used for self defense should shoot anything you load in the magazine. Just my opinion... I'm just glad to see some gun related content on Slickdeals!! Smilie

The local indoor range we shoot at has banned steel case ammo. I didn't pay attention to why, since I never shoot it anyway.
