Various vendor is offering Sony XBR-55X900E @ $998 with free shipping. This is by far the lowest price for this TV.

You can also get Fry's Electronics to price match this, and its on their list of TVs that you don't have to pay sales tax on.

I ordered yesterday from amazon seller "video and audio center" no tax in NJ. I hope the unit arrives fine. Has anyone had any experience with them? Thanks!

I know nobody can say for sure, but what are chances of this TV going even lower during BF? I've narrowed down my two choices to this and the TCL P605/7, but I still can't see justifying another $400 for the Sony. I was thinking of maybe going for the 49 inch version of the Sony but I haven't seen any deals on it yet. Since the 55 inch version is typically $200 more I was hoping to see it for around $800 or even lower.

The 900E is the better buy. The KS8000 (2016 model) is better than the MU8000.

I just returned the p607 from BB. It was nice but had bad viewing angles and the screen had a gnat in it

It is doubtful, $999 for the 55" model is already the Black Friday price on Best Buy's BF ad that came out last week.

I have the TV since August and cannot be happier with it. It does tend to stutter when streaming 4K content from the Android TV platform, but it is smooth from an external 4K source. I think the simultaneous decoding and processing is too much for the processor on the TV. I ended up buying a Chromecast Ultra anyway because that is Google Play tends to have the most new releases rentable in 4K HDR.
