NordicTrack 10.9 Elliptical Black Friday deal is now live. It is $599.99 at sears.com
Free home delivery.

http://www.sears.com/grid/p-00623...623909000P

It is a significant drop from its MSRP of $1599.00 although it is often discounted to around $900

I have made some research and tested this elliptical in the store. It is a very quite, sturdy and well made elliptical.

Look also for FREECASH offers and personal Sears coupons. Most of the coupons/offers will not apply since this is "hot buy", however I was able to apply $20 off $60 coupon I had attached to my account.

Some info from Sears:
  • The 10.9 Elliptical is the ultimate workout machine. Featuring a web-enabled touchscreen, you can easily access fitness apps, watch videos or browse the Internet right at your fingertips. If you don't mind used, check local craigslist or offer up. Some good deals to be had.

You get the added bonus of being knifed or shot too. So there's that

Yep. I got a Precor elliptical machine for $150 off Craigslist. Works like new at 1/10 the price... less maybe. Not to mention it's a much more durable and reliable machine than this one.

This isn't a Black Friday only model. I bought this last year in August with promo codes for $750 tax/shipping included.

It's just okay. You'll get a workout, but there's a few things that I don't like. The heart rate monitors don't work for squat. I just used it yesterday morning and the thing is so squeaky that I couldn't even hear a video on my tablet with the volume turned all the way up. You pretty much need iFit membership to take advantage of better workouts but even if you have that, the interface is clunky and dated. The workouts that do come with the machine are very difficult if you're trying to keep up with the recommended levels on screen. Impossible even on the very first beginner one. I'm 175lbs 5'8" non smoker by the way. Oh and the water bottle holder is in the most awkward spot. The thing is pretty sturdy though.

My wife says the machine is good for her. It works better if you're under 150lbs and doing a slow to moderate workout. People that workout faster and harder wont like the squeak and cracking noise it makes.

Would not want it even it it is free because it takes too much space. For elliptical you should avoid preform or Nordictrack. If you don't wanna pay more than $1000, get a rower like waterrower. For Sole elliptical you can asks sales for 10%. With free shipping and no tax for most it would be a better deal.

The Sears return policy doesn't specifically call out any exemptions/exceptions for Sports equipment, and the Holiday return window is until 1/31/18.

It might be worth it to take a chance and if the machine is a POS, just return it for a full refund. (provided you have a truck to take it back to the store!)

Be warned - Sears quietly changed their return policy from 90 days (it's been like that for ages) to 30 days. I recently order some items online, had them a bit over a month and they refused return.

Is this a made-for-Sears-only model?

I can't seem to find this model on any other website other than Sears/Kmart.

If so, I wonder what model this compares to for LifeFitness/Proform/other ICONFitness made ellipticals?

I'm in the market for an elliptical, and I'm still kicking myself for not taking the plunge on the Proform 16.0 from Costco when it was 999. Frown

Similar/same core hardware. Nordictrack has some extra programs, and color screen (vs backlit LED on ProForm).

Nordictrack and ProForam are owned by same manufacturer: ICON Health and Fitness. Nordictrack is positioned as their higher end brand. Nordictrack has typically better warranty

I'd say go with NordicTrack
