Great price. I thought cherry browns give you the click feel without the loudness of the blue switches, but reviews seem to indicate this is a loud keyboard?

Excellent price. Lowest I have seen it has been $70. I'm typing on one as we speak. I have no idea how it compares to other brown switch keyboards. It is quieter than my blue switch logitech which was the reason I bought it. Browns don't have that actuation click like the blues. More information on switches can be found simply by searching.

I think it just doesn't come with the extra "gaming keycaps". http://www.gskill.com/en/series/gaming-keyboards

All mechanical keyboards produce noise when the keycaps hit, there isn't a membrane to absorb the keypress. Some switches, like blue have the tactile bump and a click noise, so they produce additional noise. Brown switches have the tactile bump without the click noise, but it still has the innate noise of a mechanical keyboard I mentioned prior. Hope that helps.

I write blog posts for a living.

I'm pumping out at least 1,000 words a day, Monday through Friday.

Do you think this keyboard is comfortable enough for that kind of work AND for online gaming?

I'm torn between this keyboard (Slick Deals one) and this one here which allegedly goes on sale tomorrow for $80: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...6823828018

I'm not sure which switches typists prefer. Brown's are known for gaming. The keyboard is pretty comfortable but the wrist wrest is just thick plastic with a thin rubberish coating on top.

The non-rgb keyboard you linked to is on sale for $60. I never heard of the speed silver switches until today.

The promo for the keyboard in the OP? I tried the code and it didn't work for me. I checked my newegg emails and it looks like it was a one day deal that ended at midnight. Sorry. I'm not sure why nobody reported it as dead. They do regularly go on sale at $70 if you can wait.
