Correct. The cool thing is for people wanting to renew, MS will let you apply the 365 Personal subscription to a 365 Home and get 9 months of added service. So it's useful for Home subscribers.

OK, it seems if you are 4 years in advance that is what happens, if you are less you should be ok. I just chatted with support.

This guy is signed up for Office for the next 4 years and I can't even decide what I want for lunch.

This is the 365 Personal, not the multiuser/multi-device 365.

I just tried adding a personal one to my home one and it doesn't let me. I have done this before, so maybe msft changed something. (I had one unredemed from earlier this year)

You are switching from Office 365 Home to Office 365 Personal

Your current subscription allows you to install Office on more devices than the subscription you are switching to. If you switch to Office 365 Personal, you will only be able to use Office on 1 PC or Mac and 1 tablet. You will not be able to share your subscription and anyone you are already sharing with will lose access. See the license terms for details.

We'll add any remaining time on your current subscription to your new one. By clicking Continue, you agree to switch your subscription. Or you can wait for your subscription to end before switching. Close the browser and hang on to your product key until then.

I come here looking at live subscription. Why would you pay for a subscription to office? Why not just buy it or use another product? I use it for work and that's why I have it at all. Not trolling, just wondering about the logical reason to pay Microsoft a monthly fee.

Can you sell the code on Ebay? I'm a ps4 user and would only need the Office 365 subscription.

Though Google Docs is useful, office has a lot of extra features that Im just used to using. And at the price they charge is worth it.

365 Home includes OneDrive, 365 Personal does not I believe.
