Should I get this? I have a i7 4770k w/ a gtx 1080 and I'm not sure if I should wait for a bigger performance boosting processor or just pick up this one.
This product is for a completely different use scenario than your current desktop. It uses laptop memory and can only use integrated graphics. If you're looking to upgrade your desktop, this is not what you want to get.
I use something like this as a general home server (Plex, game servers, etc) and it's decent enough.
Even though there's always a better product on the horizon I'd say the newer 4 core Kaby Lake-R mobile chips will do well in these NUC type machines whenever the next refresh is (usually Jan/Feb IIRC).
You're right, it's a repost. It was $370 on 11/4, $330 on 11/5, and $250 on 11/19.
There is a reason for the price drop so rapidly, read the review on amazon looks like there are quality problem. The last thing you want is after invested a few hundreds bucks (ram, ssd etc.) and this box is out of service for a long time plus repairing cost. Nobody wants that.

Any thoughts? Seems like the 128mg of L4 is pretty innovative, but are these prone to throttling due to heat?
