If you are willing to wait in line and go with a non X model, the 1600 with an MSI B350M will be on sale at Frys for about $190 (after MIR) for BF.

Yes thats a good deal on 1600 + 350 chipset bundle. Also please note 190 after $15 Mail in rebate.

I've always thought the 1600 is better than the X. Lower Tdp, same cores, comes with nice cooler

Great CPU. Make sure to pair it up with 3000+ mem sticks. Bios update may be required for enhanced stability on the mem clock speeds. All the brands have had a few new bios postings.

I wonder if these 1600x are the ones who actually have 8 cores. I read at an article where some lucky people found extra cores in theirs.
