Selling for $63 on amazon and Toys R' Us, and $80 from target, so this is a great price for it.

Eh... Walmart had this in the store for $69.99. I showed them price online at Walmart.com and they would not price match... As I check out with rest of the items... They say "This price is only for pick up, not price in the store. We no longer do price match. " I tell them "Okay. I'll leave this here... Order online and come back tomorrow to pick this up. That makes perfect sense..." That actually made sense to them...

I've had this same argument before. It's unreal.

.com is price-matchable. Actually, It's the only place WM is supposed to match anymore. That cashier screwed up.

When I mentioned the online price, the cashier called over her manager. Her "manager" stated "that's the online price. The in-store price is $69.99. That price is only for store pickup." And, he also kindly pointed at the sign that stated they no longer price match.

As the cashier scanned the rest of the items, I checked out online as well to illustrate how silly what they suggested was. I say to them... "You hold on to this... I am checking out online now, and I'll come back tomorrow to pick it up because that makes perfect sense."

It occurred to me that I was checking out in person, and online at the same time... And the item I was buying online, I was looking at in person... But that this item would go from my hands back to the rep. From the rep to the shelves. The following morning, another rep would search for it, pick it up and take it to the back. I get a ready for pickup email, and and come back in the store.... wait in line. The rep will go to the back find it.... and it will go back in my hands again.

Utterly ridiculous that that CSM (CUstomerServiceManager) doesn't know the Corporate rule. I'm a regular cashier, but our store was trained properly on current price-match policy. That sign he pointed to, also says .com IS pricematchable unless that store went rogue and eliminated that part.
I would upload a snapshot of policy if pics were supported on these boards.

I didn't bother to argue with them... I simply illustrated the absurdity of their nonsense by buying it online, as I was checking out in person... "You hold on to this... I'll be back tomorrow to pick it up."

"The Manager on duty has the final decision on any Price Match."

And the manager said no price match to their online price.

The corporate policy is "The Manager on duty has the final decision on any Price Match." And the manager said no price match to their online price.

Corp. removed price match to virtually every other retailer. A price-match to Walmart.com should be a standard, not a case-by-case scenario that requires a "manager" to be called over every single time there is a price match request. Walmart realizes that online shopping is very competitive (hence the lower prices online)... and in person, not so much, hence the higher prices in stores.
