Love my PB1000 and have been looking at adding a PB2000. What is the difference between a PB2000 and PB12-NSD? It it a slam dunk to get the PB12 at this price be a PB2000?

How much better is a ported sub for home theater/movies than a sealed one?

I set an alert for these guys a few weeks ago. Looking to pick something up for my home theatre build. However I've been looking between the PB-2000 and one of the HSU subs. Apparently the hsu goes lower into the "feel it" range. So I'm not sure. Looks like those thought aren't on much sale at all. I've got an alert for hsu as well and hoping they come out with something here in the next days.

I've got both, and I can't say I could narrow down any sonic characteristics that are specifically because of porting or not. General consensus is that porting leads to boominess but I don't know if that's universally true.

My VT-F 15 is ported and it sure isn't boomy at all. Hsu claims the sub can get 1-3 hz lower response in the ported vice sealed configuration, so /shrug....

I have the PC-2000 as part of a review I did for HTF, I liked the set so much I bought it. I'd never describe it as boomy either.

The PC-2000 isn't part of the sale tho, I guess.

Looks like the SB12-NSD is the same price on Amazon from a 3rd party seller. Not sure if worth forgoing 5% cashback to buy directly from SVS or not.

I thought they stopped making these NSD models years ago. I've seen so many advertised closeouts of them. I have the SB-2000 piano black and it's incredibly good and looks beautiful. I bought from their outlet section and it looked brand new to me.

I just pulled the trigger on this.

I've been waiting for a deal on an SVS sub, and after missing this exact price over at electronics-expo last week, I think this is about the best deal I'll see in the near future. Plus, SVS gives a 45-day no questions asked free return anyway, so it's a no-brainer.
