No need to redeem in $25 increments. I'd get this if I didn't already have the DC.

This is my first CC. And I pay everything off every month. Seemed like the best CB credit card I could find that I had a shot at getting at least. The CB balance isn't available immediately though after a sale has been processed. It happens with each statement.

But if you didn't have either card and the $25 increment doesn't really matter do you see any benefit of this card or Citi double cash? A straight 2% card with no annual fee seems like a good option for all of us to have in our wallet..

Citi DC adds 2 years free warranty to purchases instead of only 1 year with this card.

Citi DC offers price protection up to $500 per item, this card is only $250 per item.

Don't see off-hand any way this isn't inferior to the Citi card apart from not having to wait till you have at least $25 cash back to redeem it.

I've had this card for about a month now. It works fine 2% back is nice. But right away, the glaring missing feature: no transaction notifications, not even via email. And forget about mobile support. The Paypal app only shows you your balance (not even anything regarding CC activity) and when you tap on "pay" it opens your browser to the Paypal website, where you have to log in (thank god for LastPass). After you log into Paypal via a browser, you'll still only see the balance a "details" link, and a payment link. If you go to either details or payment, a new window opens and redirects you again to the paypal.syf.com website (Syncrhony Bank), where you can do all that basic stuff. The site is barebones. As I said, since there are no notifications or mobile app support whatsoever, you need to do all this regularly to check nothing fishy is going on.

But, 2% is better than 1.5% which my Capital One Quicksilver with its excellent mobile support offers, so that's that.

Also, I just had the opportunity to file a price protection claim. That is done through Mastercard, at 1-800-MASTERCARD or www.mycardbenefits.com, to which as far as I could tell there is no link at the Mastercard website, and that site by itself which asks you for your full CC details can't be easily tied to anything officially Mastercard, either by doing a whois search on the domain or peeking at the Security Certificate details.

So... as the post right above yours mentions- sounds like it's worse in every way than Citi Doublecash other than not having to wait till you earn at least $25 to collect cash back

Yes, although my credit wasn't that great, I just started building late 2016 with my car payments and this year I got a Cap One pre-approval which I took, but Cap One is known for giving people with low credit a break. I got the PayPal 2% card email offers which I also took after a few months of getting them cause I initially thought I wouldn't be approved and I was surprised I did get it. Also surprising is that I got $3000 credit limit right away. So, maybe low or "fair" credit for approval is an advantage of this card, and I don't know the initial credit limit most people get with the Citi card.

How is mobile support for the Citi DC card? And the price protection and extra warranty claims are done through Citi, right? Not through Mastercard?

By the way, the description in the OP is wrong. It is not good for eBay, and I assume any store where PayPal is the CC processor, same as the PayPal debit card.

Also, not that this matters much, but the card looks pretty crappy, especially compared with the very slick looking new PayPal debit card design (the blue one with chip and NFC). I mean, just look at the PP logo in that screenshot, was this card designed in MS Paint?

Yes, warranty and PP are done via Citi (well, technically it's a third party company, but you use Citis website to file everything, and the PP covers up to $500 per claim instead of $250 like Mastercard, it can all be done online, and it's very fast.

They'll also issue you temporary credit card #s if you want to use your card on a sketchy website without needing to worry about having it stolen, which is nice.

And yes they have a mobile app that'll show you card activity not just your balance
