I was just looking at this yesterday. Only difference between this and the 2540 is the addition of fax capability on the 2700, and a reduction in print speed from 30ppm to 27ppm (which is really unnoticeable).

This historic low of this printer (2700) on Amazon is $101. It hits $120 fairly regularly, 7 times so far this year. It's been down to $110 twice this year. The historic low price of the 2540 is $99.99.

Both of these printers appear to be being phased out in favor of the 2740, which is currently $200, with a historic low of $140. It has fax capability, 32ppm print speed, a color touchscreen, and the ability to duplex scan (not only duplex print as other models).

The point of getting 2740 for me is duplex scan & copy. Neither 2540 nor 2700 has it. If I have a 50 pages booklet to copy or turn into PDF, no duplex will be very painful.

Amazon currently has warehouse deals for the 2740 for ~$110. They come with slight cosmetic damage.

Those prices also appear to be refurbished.

See above for 2740

this should drop lower, it's been $100 or less frequently... I'm waiting for another deal on 2740 or 2380

If you don't mind refurbs keep an eye on Amazon Warehouse. They had the 2740 refurbished for $130 last night. It's at $161 now though.

I have this printer and hate it. It disconnects and goes into Deep Sleep mode after printing. Every time I need to print I need to go to Menu and set up again the WiFi connection. Do not buy!! I tried everything and still does not work properly. Read reviews!

I have heard you can disable deep sleep mode when doing the initial set up. Have you tried that?
