According to the review https://youtu.be/DrG9H5tyzMk , it's a decent projector. The major disadvantage is the response time 16ms. It's faster than most of the projectors but is still slower than high end gaming monitors. I don't play FPS games so I grabbed this deal from Amazon.

I wouldn't recommend this. First got this for $749 and returned it for the Epson HC2150. The 2150 is on sale for $649 currently and I would recommend to get that one instead. It's miles ahead of the Optoma. The 3000 lumen rating of the Optoma is fake, it's nowhere near that

Do you have a link to the 2150? Because I'm not seeing it at the price you claimed.

I'm torn between this one and the epson 2150. I think I need this short throw one because my room is about 11 feet long.

Why are you comparing a monitor to a projector for response time?

and are you talking about response time or input lag?

If the latter, that is mighty good for a projector. It even says best in class which it probably is, so it's actually a selling point not a disadvantage

But that's not a fair comparison.the optoma is a short throw projector. So please compare short throw to short throw

Right but the image quality on the HT2150 is vastly superior. And it has so many more features than the Optoma for example Vertical Lens shift

I have had the Optoma GT760 for a few years now. It is the 720p version of this one. The specs are mostly the same as this except the resolution obviously. As far as lag, I have had no problems out of it when playing first person shooters, racing or any other games. There was very minimal offset in setting up guitar hero. I love the short throw. My room is only about 11ft long, so I have it mounted on an 8ft ceiling approximately 4.5 ft from a 100" screen. I adjusted the keystone to match my screen height and it looks good.

I bought a second screen to hang from my garage door. This time of year I can take my projector down, set it in the driveway, make a few adjustments to keystone, flip the picture, and now... watching football with the neighbors by a fire pit. (I have a mounting kit that can disconnect by pushing the pins in.)

Projector reviews.com has not done a review of this one, but here is what I have which is very similar.

I need a short throw.. I bought a refurb BenQ HT2150 ST and returned it due to some 'physical condition' issues.. how does this compare to the BenQ? I am trying to avoid refurbs. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind, thought you were saying the Optoma was the same price at B&H.

I'm in the same boat. Have you looked at BenQ's new Short throw projector (TH671ST)?. Just saw this today and it is cheaper than their HT2150ST.

https://www.benqdirect.com/th671s...&fep=1396#

No reviews or user feedback yet since it is brand new but cheaper than the 2150 at $750.

If anyone else has feedback on this projector, would appreciate it as well.
