Dome Z-Wave Plus Flood Prevention Kit and More - $101.95 or Less Free Shipping (No Tax for Most States)

The Smartest House has started their BF deals.
Dome Z-Wave Plus Flood Prevention Kit [thesmartesthouse.com] $101.95 ($96.86 if you have a 5% "review" coupon, see bottom how to get it). This is lower than previous front page deal of $105 from July.

Valve Only
[thesmartesthouse.com] $84.97
All Dome sale https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/...tions/dome

Qubino Z-Wave Plus Flush 1 Relay Module ZMNHAD3 [thesmartesthouse.com] $39.95 - this is a great deal, $10 off normal price. But also, they now have the temperature probe in stock which makes this a bargain for one reason - hard wired temperature sensor [thesmartesthouse.com] and relay in one package, under $50. I am planning to use this for the attic fan and no batteries was a must.

There are more on sale but those are the biggest deals I see. They also run free shipping no minimum (usually $50) till Cyber Monday.

You can save additional 5% if you post a review on their website. They usually email you the code within hours. At least that was the case since last week, I can't guarantee. The Smartest House is very legit and customer care is top notch.

EDIT: Posted a review today of something I purchased previously, got email with 5% off 2 hrs later Peace

This is a decent deal - even as BF deals go. I'll likely add additional sensors, but this'll get the "catastrophic water failure" control scenario started. Thanks OP. Repped.

My water shutoff valve in the house is a "gate valve" not a "ball valve" like in the picture here (https://i.pinimg.com/474x/68/d2/c...cation.jpg). This water shutoff device seems to only work with "ball valves". Would i have to change my valve to make it work or do they include some sort of an adapter?

You need to change it. I need to do the same thing.

I don't think it would be worth the hassle. i guess it depends on where the leak/flood is happening. I have water sensors at major water outlets sinks, washer, and water heater but if i get a busted pipe else where i wouldn't know till i see it probably.

Price and ease of install are unquestionably attractive
But Question is - does this motor has enough strength to move / close valve while water is flowing thought the pipe. Any one with actual Dome installed on 3/4 pipe and tested.

I believe it is proven already. For example:

That's up to you to decide. Sensors and alarms will only help you if you are home.

And if you want to be 100% sure, you can install water flow sensor (expensive) and set trigger - if no one is home and there is a water flow or leak - shut off valve.

The valve-only part is $89.99 at Amazon, if you already have sensors. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LX3JFR8

So technically if you just want the valve, you can use any of the generic water / leak sensors and then have your automation trigger the valve shutoff?

Correct. Your controller will be your limitation. You can set it to shut off every time you leave the house if you want (I don't advise).
