While that's true the post above that says this is a corporate seller.

Basically whenever a OEM builder buys a batch of drives from a mfg they don't pay newegg prices. They can if they want but none of them do. So the mfg will give various discounts. One is for taking drives from a batch that the test sample had a higher failure rate than they allow for retail drives. For these drives, and even ones that meet the failure rate threshold, the mfg provides NO WARRANTY in exchange for a reduced price. Any warranty is from the builder in cases like this. Thats why when your prebuilt PC part fails you contact hp, acer, etc and they resolve the issue through replacement.

Now there is a chance that you register the drive and get a 5 year warranty. That's great if it happens but you should prepare for it not showing any warranty or being denied a claim when your receipt shows you bought the drive from this seller. People have posted success getting warranty work by mfgs with their receipt showing 'oem bare drive' etc but its not supposed to happen. You buy oem, you are supposed to be the builder, you are supposed to handle the warranty claims by whomever you sold the pc to.

If anyone is worried about this they should contact toshiba asap and ask. If they say 5 year warranty than keep that email/chat for your own records.

Thanks, this looks like a good price point for an enterprise grade drive. I'm in for one. Finally getting my games off of the spinning disks.

Regards,
Pol

Looks like a attractive price point for an enterprise endurance ssd. I am wondering whether there are any issues running/using it as an OS drive. I don't care that it is slightly slower (not so easy to discern in real life application) but if it last long, that will be good.

Agreed. I'd buy this one if I needed a 500gb ssd.
