Amazon.com has their Amazon Basics 6-feet 4K High Speed HDMI cables on sale for $9.96 for a pack of three [amazon.com]. They also have a single cable for $6.99 [amazon.com] and two cables for $7.96 [amazon.com]. They also have 10 foot cables [amazon.com]for just a couple dollars more if needed.

Picked up two TVs this week and needed the high speed HDMI cables for 4K and this was the cheapest I could find and prime shipping will be here tomorrow.

any cable since 2009 will support 4k (10.2gbps) however for hdr you may be able to get away with a 10.2 cable but you should get a 18gbps cable instead...which these are

Is this a marketing gimmick? Do you need HDMI specific for 4K cables or will regular HDMI cable's work just as well?

Most will work fine. If you get constant skips in the picture or video / audio cutting out for a split second constantly then your older cable might not be up to par.

only if cables are older than 8 years. a 10.2gbps HDMI will work fine for non-hdr 4k for hdr recommended to move up to 18gbps especially if using the ethernet too through the cable

I snagged this a few weeks ago for the same price. I chose these since they support 4k at 60hz. My previous cables only handled 4k at 30hz.

Bingo. As long as you get a nice picture you got a working cable.

They work great, perfect if you get a 4k this week.
They have others too.
