Went to my local Lowe's today to purchase a Dewalt DWS779 and found they have a one day sale for $299. Not sure if this is a local thing, but got the last one. Online said they were out of stock, but they had one left in store. Have picture of sign and will upload shortly.

FYI Lowe's and Brickseek both said they were out of inventory. Stopped by the store and they had one in stock. There is a big sign when you walk in the door saying it is the "Deal of the Day". Not sure if this is all stores or just the Sunnyvale, Ca store.

Also, price wasn't updated in their system. Had to go to customer service to get the sale price.

Thank you for posting this!! Rep'ed!

As soon as I saw this post, I found a Lowe's that still had a few, and drove an hour to get one. They also honored my military discount on top of the sale price, so got it for $269 plus tax.

FYI, these are the 3 parts to turn the 779 into a 780, by adding the XPS laser system:

Power supply - N078832
Handle set - 624730-00
Work Light - N030317

They're available through any DeWalt Factory Service Center, or online resellers. I just bought them for $59. Also needed are 2 pieces of 16G wire and a couple of wire connectors. The installation is well documented on the interwebs.

Did you get this after the one day sale? or on the same day.

Both, in a way. I saw this post in the evening after work, too close to closing time to make it, so I called the store and explained that I wanted the saw but couldn't be there until the morning, and the manager agreed to honor the sale price for me.

As a follow up, I also bought discounted Lowe's gift cards from eBay, and changed my method of payment for the saw to those cards (at the store, a couple of weeks later), bringing my total before taxes to $238.
