Decent price, but still $1169 on Samsung EPP. Was hoping it would drop further there.

How does this compares to Sony 850e around similar price range?

When I compared the two side by side, the Samsung had greater contrast, less shadow detail. The Sony excelled with motion blur. Good sets, you have to decide with your own eyes.

Ebay has no tax for me, that alone makes it a great deal.

Good price if you don't have to pay tax, and don't need help getting it into your house. BJ's currently has this (the equivalent warehouse club model UN65MU800D) for $1279 with a free $125 Google Play GC and also free white glove delivery.

This year's Samsung series are worse than last year but the same price. I would wait till next years model lineup.

I think its picture quality is equivalent to 850e. You can't beat the value of that $1300 75" 850e deal. I would have bought it if I didn't already buy a 65" 900e last week.

Next year there is not guarantee it's not going down hill. Most people have come to this conclusion that Samsung is bad this year based on reviews from rtings.com. But if you check other review websites including Consumer Reports you will find MU8000 is still good choice.
