Hi,
My current two year contract with Comcast is up next month and there is a current Verizon deal in my area where you get gigabit internet/cable and phone (Showtime and DVR bundled for free) for $79.99 . To upgrade to preferred cable its a total of $89.99/month. For me, that's an enticing deal as it would be $5-$10 cheaper than my current Comcast bundle that included subpar "performance" internet.
I am ready to pull the trigger and transfer over to Verizon, but I was wondering if I should wait until Black Friday. Has anyone in the past heard of or come across residential home cable/internet deals on Black Friday that included any extras above and beyond the normal local marketing deals found at various times throughout the year?

Call up Comcast and speak to retentions/cancellations. Tell them you saw offer for $79.99 for their Gigabit service online and you want that offer.

I did this about 1.5 months ago and no contract. Took a few tries but it worked. I don't even have Verizon in my area so you should definitely be able to play them against one another.

You will have to get the XB6 gateway (unless you have DOCSIS 3.1 modem and router to support Gigabit service). There might be an install fee of $50-70 too but try to get that waived as well. You can call back to get that waived.
