Is Qualcomm quick charge something specific? Just asking because I own one of these purchased from a deal posted in April and it fast charges my Samsung and Pixel phones.

Yes, Quick charge means your device is capable of handling higher current. Both the charger and the phone needs to support it though.

For example, effective charge mode for QC 2.0 is 5v / 9v / 12v (amperage vary depending on V but iirc it caps out at 18W.) I think with this, the most power you can get is 5v x 2.4 A = 12W

Yes.... QualComm Quick Charge [qualcomm.com]. Your device however must support it. For example my Samsung S5 did not, but my Samsung S7 Edge does.

BTW, I have this unit. It is small, holds a charge and is plenty fast enough for most applications. Being so small, I often just leave it plugged into my phone and place it in my jeans or jacket pocket.

Thanks for the info! I guess I was just confused because it does provide quick charging of my galaxy S6 same as using a wall charger. It's quick enough for me and also keeps my phone battery going up even if the screen is constantly on and I'm playing a game. Definitely a good little charger.
