This is a better deal than last one posted I'll probably jump on this for $4.58 per.

Someone talk me into these...I use the slightly cheaper green packaged Rheem filters from Home Depot (FPR 4/MERV 8.0) that I've been told are better for air conditioning units to run more efficiently and are $8.97 for a 3 pack (normal price)...can anyone give me some advice?

If you look for each filter in the details section it shows FPR rating as 6-7 as I posted above.

In my opinion, it depends on what you want and what your system can handle. I like the high MERV rated filters and run the fan 24/7. In the house I lived in previous to now, those filters would choke the system and it could not keep up with the thermostat setting to cool the house. I was pretty much forced to use the cheap thin filters.

The FPR is Home Depot's rating system as where the MERV is the industry standard rating, which it is labeled for MERV 8. I'd be okay with knowing the MERV as the FPR is based on it.

Exactly. These are what I ordered back in August for $15.99 per 4-pack. $16.84 total AT.
