Acoustic Sound Design has the Harman HKTS 15 system [amazon.com] on sale for $129 on Amazon. This matches a previous FP deal here: https://slickdeals.net/f/10473036

They also have the same system plus a Denon AVR-X 2300W receiver [amazon.com] for $449. The receiver alone is currently going for $449 on Amazon. It is a 7.2 receiver with built-in bluetooth and WiFi, and it supports 4k.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

How do these compare to the HKs that were $200 last week?

Last year's receiver. Has been previously posted for $399 @ Fry's.
Last year's are being discounted more and by many more sellers besides Fry's to make room for current model.

Just providing info, not a TD!

I have this system! It sounds pretty good IMO. I've read some reviews about the sub failing, however in the year that I've had mine I haven't had that problem. I run my desktop, Xbox, and Switch on these speakers so they see a lot of use.

Please tell me if I would need anything else to combine with these speakers to use them with my projector to watch movies.

I appreciate your time and advice.

Thanks!

You would also need a receiver to power the speakers and a source for your projector (blu-ray, cable, x-box, etc)

Just add to cart and check out. These passive speakers will sound out of the box. No need for an amplifier or receiver. Work best with alexa smart homes.

I bought this set last year for my father-in-law.

- The subwoofer was defective and sounded blown. Didn't find out until after I wired in the system, and Harman Kardon will only service the system if you return the entire system. They will not individually service the subwoofer, so make sure to test the system before you install.

- The Subwoofer is prone to failure, you will find lots of comments on the internet regarding this issue. The speakers themselves are fantastic for the price so selling the sub on Craigslist and keeping the rest would be optimal. It is a very decent system at this price point and simply cannot be beat. It can handle any $200-$500 amp no problem. The replacement HK sub has yet to fail after 1 year of daily use.

- Factory rear satellite mounts are difficult to find as they are discontinued and have a proprietary angled mounting bracket. I went with Atlantic Satellite speaker mounts model #SPSCUR47 and they work well. You will need to drill into the enclosure or apply an adhesive.

-Overall a great buy if you are willing to risk dealing with a few hiccups along the way. It will blow anything else at this pricepoint out of the water. Great value.

-You will need an amplifier to run these speakers.

Be sure to buy the 4 year SquareTrade warranty for $22 bucks! You'll need it.

I have a different variation of this system with the same sub. The sub turns on and off and has a mind of its own. Sound good when it works but the constant click on and off of the amp is annoying
