The 16:10 aspect ratio is unfortunately becoming extinct. If you're involved in software development or a similar field, you'll realize the utility of being able to edit in two tall windows side by side. Having said that, for significantly less you can buy a 42" UHD TV and an appropriate video card. But if you're doing photo or video editing, a monitor like this would probably be more accurate.

Oh, how I pine for a 16:10 monitor, but $700 is more than I can afford to spend on a monitor just now, considering I bought the Dell U2715 only a year ago. But sooooo tempting!

$720 is CHEAP for a well specd 30 Dell. Im still rockin my Dell U3011 30" and LOVE it, but back when I bought it in 2011 it was $1200 and that was a SlickDeal. I love the 2560x1600 resolution.

Same here, had my HP ZR30w since about the same time and it was about $1000. Some of the best money I've ever spent imo.

I've had to remove my U3011 due to heat. I never actually realized how much power it was drawing and how much waste heat it was releasing, but the image is top notch.

These are dinosaurs..

I started using 30incher in 2007, 3007wfphc

Still use it here and there.

But Overall I've moved onto larger 4k.

There's no reason to stop at 30 inch.. 40 50 60.. as large as can fit in your home or cubicle.

I just duct tape a pair of mini projectors to my face.

Premiere color series is an equivalent Eizo monitor where color gamut and contrast is critical. Radiologist, colorist, photo/video editor, graphic artist, and printing would benefit these level of monitor

I've always preferred the 16:10 format, sad to hear it's a dying breed if the above info is accurate. Never have had exposure to the 21:9, but the height loss is what makes me wary of it.

Looks like a good deal and rarely see 30" 16:10 monitors. I still prefer 16:10 over the 21:9 ultra-wide monitors. Although I would be interested in a deal on the new Dell U3818DW since that also has a 1600 vertical resolution.

I too preferred the 16:10 format to 21:9, but with the 38" 21:9 monitors with 1600 pixels vertical it changed my opinion for graphic or IT workload purposes.

I still love my U3014w, but it gets no use any longer.
