Sonys are active noise cancelling and have a boatload of 'extra' bass. Really far from a neutral sound, but very favorable for most. Jbl are good but not as premium features.

Mine Just Arrived (be sure to use the FREE2DAY promo code for 2 day shipping)

LOVE THEM!

For Comparison, I also got the similar but newer generation JBL Everest 710 for $125 [jbl.com].

LOVE THEM 2. They are very much alike. Over ear, bluetooth or wired, no noise cancelling. There are some differences not so much in function as fit/performance.

FIT: Both are around ear with the same size OK pads. For my slightly large ears I can fit all the lobes inside with slight adjustment. Pads are similar, a little thicker & softer on the 710 but both very nice pads. They both are above average in comfort, but these Quincy Jones models definitely have more pressure on my big head. That's good for stability, they probably will not fall off with moderate dancin, the 710s might fall off, but if you are stationary/watching TV etc, you can hardly feel the 710s. They are not really loose, but looser. The padding on the top of the phone is thicker in the JBL, but both feel fine to me.

BUILD/Accessories: Very similar quality, excellent. Both fold both up and flat. The 710s come with a very nice compact hard case, the Jones come with a quality sack. The Jones have a cloth covered 3.5/3.5 cable, the 710s grey plastic. Both with L shaped plugs & single button remote/mic/good quality. Both have charging cables, the 710 flat and I think longer.

FEATURES: Almost the same, Wireless, 25 hour promised battery life on the 710, 20 on the Jones, Cool that Quincy himself tells you when the Jones is on/pairing etc. Its an actor on the 710. The 710 has a bluetooth share feature (it will transmit what you are listening to to any other bluetooth headphone), Jones does not.

SOUND - Similar, and very good on both. Flat accurate balance, detailed, some of the best bluetooth phones I have heard. I do think on inital listening the Jones model is a little crisper and more detailed. The voices are a bit more forward, and more natural. Whether this is because of Quincy Jone's tuning, or the larger 50mm drivers I do not know. I like the sound of both a lot, neither is a bass boosted phone, but they have good bass. I will have to listen more, but initial view is slight advantage Jones on sound.

Nice! Those upgraded pair for $125 look nice. I think what sets these apart from others around this price point aside from JBL being a solid brand is the pink color option. I did some research. For pink headphones since the Beats options are limited unless you want to buy something used, these are the best thing on the market for the gamer in your life that likes pink.

That promo code only works if you have another $20 speaker or headphone item in your cart though.

Can anyone have else comment if these are really around $99 year round? If so I'll probably wait.
