Hmmm.... This or the Costco deal is the question. For the same money, Costco will be offering the X6S Ac3000 on Wednesday.

Honestly, I'm needing a new router but from all of the reviews I'm leaning towards the Synology AC2600 over this one.

Costco Nighthawk models are all misleadingly misnamed. Have to dig in to see what the true model is.

This is a fast router, but Netgear hasn't been shipping very many firmware updates in the months I've had it. Compared to my previous ASUS RT-N66U, which got at least monthly security patches, this is worrying to the point where I'm considering selling it and going back to ASUS.

Just curious what you are basing this on...I'm also in the market. Looking to upgrade a TP-Link Archer C7, which has been really solid.

All routers are "compatible", if you have a separate cable modem unit. You just release the current IP, disconnect the old router and plugin/setup the new unit.

If you have an all-in-one box, you should to buy a separate compatible modem and stop giving Comcrap monthly modem rental money.

Absolutely. Just going to AC is should give you much better performance with newer devices. External antennas will help with signal reach as well.

Smallnetbuilder ranked the Synology as the best router on the market for a while with the feature set it provides. I also love Synology's software

All routers are compatible. You just have to make sure your modem is DOCSIS 3.0 or 3.1 compatible.
