Just got my 50k points. Is cashing out $500 the best value for points or would reward travel be better?

AFAIK with this card 1 point=1 cent no matter what you use them for- so you'd actually be losing money using them for travel (versus taking it as cash and using that to pay off another card you booked the travel on with better actual rewards for travel spend)

Thanks! I also read that if you buy an AA eGC that counts towards the $100 incidental. Easy money.

Yup- far as I know that's the only airline GC that has worked for that...

it'll also work to pay taxes on reward flights... so it goes well with folks who got the SW companion pass lately since you're looking at $5.60x4= $22.40 per roundtrip booking... take 5 trips in the year using CP and you've more than used the full $100 (possibly fewer trips if you pay any international taxes- or you need to pay for EBCI, which the incidental will also cover)
