Gah, this is sooo close to amazing. Pretty heavy (expected with all that hardware), and just a tad too pricey, but the specs... that i7-7700HQ CPU shreds, 16GB RAM is plenty, the striped RAID SSDs would be insanely fast for core programs, and that full-on 1070... I can't wait to see what these specs would run next Black Friday. Smilie

I'm a little worried we won't see any better price at these specs. From what I can see, discounts will be on the 1060 not the 1070.

If you can buy enough newegg GCs from groupon using paypal Groupon GCs you can get this for ~1100 if you dont pay tax on newegg.... Plus 2-3% CB.... im hesitant though because its ACER, not sure what to think of ACER...2 year warranty though....

Acer Predator series is extremely well built and has very good reviews everywhere. Check the review in Notebookcheck.net and you will get a fairly good idea.

Yeah, for this year that's probably true since people are still willing to pay good money for the 1070 or 1080. I'm hopeful that next year, 1070s will be the GPU showing up in mid-tier models... but maybe I'm a little hasty in hoping that. look around

I have a Predator G9 and it's a beast. Heavy yes, but it's a 17" gaming laptop. Runs cool, plays 4k settings (mine is 4k) on high or ultra and support is good. My motherboard died after 10 months, and got it repaired and back in 6 days. They paid shipping both ways. Yeah, board died, but it's an electronic item... shit happens. But it's how you are taken care of, and I am extremely pleased with my experience.
