Was waiting on the 1050 at Fry's for $89, but this is cheaper and I can go ahead and get it. Not a TI, but not TI's price either.

Your initial cost is $104.99. To arrive at the $85 price, you have to input a promo code at a website, fill out and print out the registration form, enclose original UPC code from the box, enclose a copy of your sales receipt, and then mail all of that to an address. Then you wait 6 to 8 weeks for a Pre-Paid card.

I haven't used a printer for over 5 years, I doubt the thing even works, it's in storage. I hate cutting up boxes, what happens if you have to return it, you have a holey box. And what happens if you want to eBay it, you have a holey box.

Seriously, it's 2017, not 1997. I didn't even know companies still did mail-in rebates anymore. What's wrong with uploading a photo of the UPC, uploading a photo of the sales receipt, fill out the form online and hit a button? I know, too easy and most people would actually do that.

FWIW, on the Newegg Powercolor 560D rebate, I just peeled off the UPC. Box is intact.

If you're getting this for a HTPC keep in mind this doesn't meet the requirements to stream in 4K on Netflix. Minimum requirement is 10 series with 3gb of ram, this only has 2gb.

That's not the point. Rebate is not for 2017. 10 years ago, yes. Now, no.

So will you wait for cybermonday?
Was one posted for Cyber Monday for cheaper? I saw one at Fry's for Friday, but this one was cheaper. But, yes if one was cheaper on Monday and I knew I could get it I would wait.

Thinking about getting this for my brother-in-law's first basic gaming PC. Should I snag it or do you think we may see something better on Black Friday/cyber Monday?

that would be the point - to prevent scammers from returning it and/or doing a double-dip Applause

I just did a rebate for an AMD processor, and it basically follows the process you describe in your last paragraph - I scanned the receipt, uploaded it to AMD's rebate fulfillment site, and that was that - it was approved a day or two later. The receipt contains the serial number and receipt number, which I had to input on the online submission as well.

Now I just have to wait for the rebate - we'll see how long that takes. A couple minutes work for a $40 rebate - hopefully other manufacturers and retailer follow suit.

FYI for the old fashioned rebates where you need to supply the UPC, and X-acto knife works well to make a shallow cut around the perimeter of the UPC, and then the UPC can be peeled off with a thin top layer of the cardboard attached - it saves the box from destruction.

Great deal. Did the research and according to guru3d review, the 1050 is about 85% of a 1050ti. So at this price/performance ratio, this deal is better than the $130 1050ti deal (might be out of stock later). However, if the 1050ti is within your budget, get that instead, because you probably will notice the difference in minimum frame rates overall.
