I have use an OBi box for about 7 years now. As long as you have decent Internet capability, quality is great.

Like the product, but the company sucks (OBI).

After they made my trusty old 100 a dud I'll never buy another of their products. Forced, planned obsolescence is just ridiculous for a VOIP adapter.

They announced end of life for their product, ended support as planned. The product continued to work. Until Google changed their certificate. Then, as planned, they said no more updates. Even then, there's a $6 workaround.

I agree OBI sucks, but I got two 100 up and running other day. It cost me $6 per Google Voice account, but it works. You essentially make a 3rd party (Simon Telephonics) take over your GV account and then you create new SP (service provide) details on your Obi page.

Right, after having the gall to charge $10 for a firmware update to begin with. And I'm aware of the "workaround" which I have no interest in. OBI is a shady company with shady practices and I'll never buy their VOIP products again. Thankfully there are many other choices.

you mean like android and apple do every few revisions? Throw them a bone... They made free phone service easy for the masses.

I haven't gotten a new device just yet, as I really don't have a need for a VOIP right now. I'm actually thinking to get an IP phone that runs on POE as I have a nice network now and a jack at my desk that would fit one perfectly...as opposed to bothering with the adapters and separate phones etc. But we'll see. Only thing I know for certain is OBi won't get a penny from me ever again.
