Looks like backcountry.com lowered the price further on the Osprey Atmos 65L backpack to $156, down $25 from the $182 deal a week ago. this deal can also be found on steepandcheap.com, the sister site to Backcountry which also has other discontinued items similar to REI garage.

the 50L Atmos is $138 as well. According to user tmt64 if you bought the previous deal for $182, you can call Backcountry.com and have them refund you the difference.

the women's equivalent the Osprey Aura 65 is also on sale for same price of $156.

I believe this applies to all sizes and colors too. I'm on the fence as I convinced my brother to get the deal but I already have an REI ridgeback 65L...

Good deal on a great pack for serious hiking.

Just to answer the common questions that come up every time a big pack like this is posted:

- No this is not what you want for day to day commuting. This holds 65 liters and is massive. You'll look like a clown putting a laptop and gum in it, it's meant to hold 50 lbs. or more of gear for through hikes and climbs.

- No this not what you want for air travel. It's way too big to fit in the overheads and all the straps and webbing are a nightmare to try checking it (you need to buy another bag to put this in).

- Yes good bags cost more than $100. This thing is built from quality materials, has a good warranty, and most of all is super comfortable with a lot of weight in it. You don't want to be 2 days into a 4 day hike and dying every step you take with a horrible pack digging into your shoulders. This pack has a great suspension system that distributes weight very well.

- Yes you must measure yourself and buy the proper size pack for your body--there are three sizes! Go to a store like REI and have them measure your back to find the right size.

For those like me who got it earlier for $182 from backcountry, I just called them and they were able to refund me the difference.

I purchased through Amazon 8 days ago, so is it safe to assume that I'm out of luck on a refund?

Amazon already lowered their price to $156 for specific size and colors, so if you bought one of those then you might be able to ask for them to refund the difference in their own price drop.

Plus $20 cashback from that not retail site. Stupidly good deal. Got it from Moosejaw for $171 last week. Wish I'd waited but oh well. Maybe they'll lower too.

Pretty much yes. As far as I know, they only have price guarantee on TV's after you purchase them.

I was successful as well making an adjustment to my order as well! Thanks for the price update, I received mine about a week ago, definitely nice pack.

At this price, you still might as well get the 65L vs the 50L, the 50 is missing external pockets and some straps at the bottom.

My size reference, I'm 5'11" and around 180 pounds and the Medium is what I choose, seems to fit well and remember they are adjustable!

Thanks for this reminder! I was close to pulling the trigger at $182, but there was tax for me in FL, so I decided to wait. Now at $156, after the $20 CB it'll be $146 out the door, totally worth it.

Nope from my recent experience they quite price matching on recent orders. I ordered speakers Sunday night for $300, then Monday night they were dropped further to $250. I called and they said its policy that they can't price match the new price. I had to order at the $250 and will have to return the $300 same speakers for a $20 shipping fee to save $30. F***ing annoying.
