Cabelas has the Ruger 10/22 on sale for 169.99 plus tax. I used the ebay gift cards for 18% off, plus a $10 off $75 coupon I got in the mail plus 5% off military discount (this is for anyone that has ever served). came out to roughly $131 OTD. You can pre-order online and they will ship it to the Cabelas of your choice.

Are these gift cards that you speak of instant delivery?

Good luck to anyone trying to get this deal even without the coupon and military discount. They're backordered online and your local store likely has none by the time you get waited on. I've driven 45 miles to my local Cabela's more than once to buy a firearm the website showed in stock (at the local store) only to find they had none by the time they got to my number. Having to wait over an hour for them to call your number before you find out they screwed you only makes it all the more aggravating.

Further, apparently Cabela's loves to cancel backorders on sale items around this time of the year so you're likely going to get screwed that way too.

Edit: I should point out that in the cases I mentioned above by the time I gotten my number called and was told they didn't have any the website no longer showed that they were available in the store. But, I'm done driving 45 miles to the store based on the website showing "Available" because I don't know if that means they have 1 or 101 and they somehow consistently get sold before I can get waited on. This specific deal for the Ruger 10/22 is one of times this has happened (not the first), but it will be the last. I will be calling to confirm in stock quantities before going from now on and if they only have a few and aren't willing to hold one for me I'm not going.

I've attempted to backorder a 10/22 online after getting screwed in the store, but I'm not holding my breath that I will get one.

I've bought several guns online at Cabela's. If you see a good sale price and you definitely want the gun just order it online and pick up in store. Almost immediately, they check your store for stock. If it's in stock, they pull it, put your name on it, and put it away for you. Then you receive an email to come pick it up. If you pass the online background check in store, you pick up your gun and bypass the other customers, etc.

When the gun sells out, it changes from backorder to sold out. If you ordered one, you'll probably get it.

But never count on walking in to the store to buy a popular gun on sale.

Good luck! PS, this system may not work as slick on Black Friday!

FWIW, my experience with firearms is that they do not pull it from the store's inventory (even when the store has stock), but ship one to the store instead. Other items I have ordered online have been pulled from the store's inventory (like ammo or an optic).

Well, I've got my fingers crossed, but I've read a lot of horror stories about them cancelling things.

Clearly...

Edit: By the way, thanks for the helpful reply. Repped!
