I have had this in my cart for a few months and just saw it drop. You beat me to it. This certainly checks all my boxes (1080, backlit keyboard, optical drive). I would just upgrade with 4GB more ram and a 128 m.2 SSD for the OS.

I haven't seen anything Black Friday has to offer in this price range with these features.

So tempting!!!

Add 4gb ram and one of these SSDs. (sata or M2) and you will have a perfectly capable and speedy laptop.

I built one of these for my wife. (PLENTY fast with an SSD and 8gb ram) Battery life is d@mn good also!

I have a Dell Inspiron 7577 $850 I may be sending back..... (I don't really game so...)

Been going back and forth on buying this or waiting for 8th gen i3s to come out and this deal just makes it to good to wait. I'm thoroughly convinced you won't find a better deal on a low end laptop with these features.

I have this on deal alert and have been eyeing this for some time.
However 314 is not the lowest price in 2017 per SD...
The best price in the past week was 298 refurbished available on Amazon from Acer directly.
I did not pick up the refurb because unlike Dell, Acer only gives 90 days warranty on refurb units.
*UPDATE: I think 314 is pretty good but still $4 higher than the Prime Day price (310)
I wonder if Amazon could do better tomorrow or next week? BF deal is worse than Prime Day?

It's a good deal if you have an SSD to replace the hard drive that's included. I've got this computer and after updating for half the day and sticking an SSD in it it's been great.

You could always purchase with a credit card that offers price protection. Discover IT would be ideal since it has price protection and 5% cashback at Amazon and Target (up to $1500 in purchases) through the end of the year. Also, the 5% cashback wasn't available during Prime Day so that alone would more than make up for the $4 difference in price.

I've been looking for a laptop for my 11 year old and decided this one is probably the best option I've come across in my price range. Definitely seems like the best value for the features you get. I've owned an Acer laptop in the past and it served me well for over 5 years. She'll definitely be happy with it!

Thanks for posting OP! Happy Thanksgiving!

At this price, getting a FHD display and SSD is literally impossible. Also, this Laptop has one extra M.2 Slot which you can use to add a M.2 SATA SSD without replacing the HDD.

Good point on the 5%. Discover is already my default payment type for AMZN. But I already had a big AMZN gift card balance from various promotions on Prime Day. (Acquired at 5%-10% discount)
I buy a lot from AMZN every year but so far the best laptop deal is from Costco. Just received the $179+taxes Acer Chromebook 14 from Costco with 2 yo warranty... that is quite similar to the previous $199+taxes Chromebook 15 posted on SD. I'm sure AMZN can do better. Smilie
