How does the porcelain-coated steel cook box and lid stand up to time compared to cast aluminum grills?

It does come out as a gas. The propane is stored in the tank under pressure as a saturated mixture of liquid propane on the bottom and vapor on top. The tank's valve is at the top of the tank, which allows only gas to exit. As propane gas exits, liquid propane in the tank boils to replace the gas. The pressure is then dropped through the regulator as the gas travels on its way through the burner control valves and orifices and finally into the burners.

That's probably a natural gas line, not propane, and won't work. Unless you heat your house with a 500 gallon propane tank that gets refilled every year? If that were the case, you wouldn't be asking the question..

I asked question because I want a grill that I can hook up to the gas line that is in the patio. I don't want a grill that would need a propane tank to work. Everyone are not expert in everything. So be humble if you have knowledge.

You're gonna need a conversion kit like this
https://smile.amazon.com/Char-Bro...gas+grill#

When buying a grill, they are gonna say LP or NG.
LP= liquid propane
NG= Natural Gas

You need the natural gas version unless you can find a grill brand that sells conversion units.

I'm in the same boat as you partner...
