I had a small Stanley shop vac similar to this model and it was the loudest vacuum I've ever heard. The metal body of the tank resonated and amplified the volume even more. I'm talking 130 db or more. Even with heavy duty ear protection it was still way too loud to use. I ended up throwing it out after 1 year.

I wouldn't recommend Stanley vacuums. Spend a little more and get a Rigid shop vac. They're so much better and will last longer.

Right there with you on this one. I current own it and I can barely stand to vacuum out the car. I get very self conscious because I know it bugs the heck out of the neighbors in our peacefully quiet culdesac.

Just an FYI for anyone looking for something a little bigger, Lowes has a 12gallon shop vac for $40 thats available online/in store.

I heard HD has something around 12-16 gallons for $40 as well but I didn't see it go live yet so i bought the one at Lowes

Bought this last Black Friday and it's perfectly adequate to do your basic car cleaning. Still need to buy separate attachments like a crevice tool. If I️ could do it again, I️ would just buy a better model with many accessories for $40-50 instead of this
