Note: this is not the same product as the Logitech Harmony Link, the device that Logitech recently, and infamously, decided would become a paperweight next spring, without initially offering any replacement for users. Only after public outcry did Logitech update their policy to replace anyone's soon-to-be-bricked Harmony Link with its replacement, the Harmony Hub (the base unit of this item).

I think the fear of the public that their IoT products will become bricks in an inordinately short amount of time is entirely reasonable, and Logitech's scare with the Harmony Link is strongly affecting sales of this device, as it likewise depends heavily on Logitech continuing to offer their "cloud" services; if they flipped the switch, you'd be left in the exact same position yet again, just hoping public outcry gets you the help you need.

I'm torn, because the Harmony Hub is a really cool device, and Logitech did make things right with the Harmony Link...but still.

I was not expecting Amazon to match Walmart. Anyone know why this is dropping in price so much?

Yes it does.

You can link it (the Harmony Hub) directly to the Google Home or via a SmartThings hub which is linked to the Google home.

We do both since the SmartThings integration acts more like on/off switches (i.e. OK google, turn on TV) and all the stuff in the activity turns on. With the direct integration (even when using shortcuts to activate), you always get: "OK, Here's Harmony" followed by another response from the Harmony integration, which for me is a bit to verbose.

Yeah, I'm hesitant on this because of how old it is. I really want one, but the photos use an iPhone 5, not even a 5s. Worried that it will be a $60 brick in short time. Might wait for a more significant price drop to pick up as a toy

Note that the Harmony Hub is also usable by their Harmony Ultimate and Harmony Elite products, so I don't think they'll discontinue these anytime soon.

Picked this up yesterday at Walmart. Took a couple hours to get it to work with the X1 DVR and LG TV. The smart TV function just didn't want to cooperate. It took forever but now it's working perfectly.

If I already have the hub, do I still need this if I want to control a tv in a different room or do I only need the remote?
