Bought one!

Some of personal experience between electric vs crank adjustable height.

At work we have adjustable workstation/office desk from different sources and in crank and electric. I've used both and my experience after think I'd prefer the electric because of the more convenience of pushing buttons to adjust the desk's height, I ended up trading back for a crank.

My personal reasons (in case it applies to someone):

A) crank desks were more solid and stable. I'm not a big or heavy person (130lb?) but whenever I lean on the electric versions, it is not as solid --- it -- how to describe it -- moves or rocks more often. The crank desks were more solid and took more weight. My office neighbor had a electric, and he always complains how his desk rocks everytime he had to dock and undock his laptop. I had the same issue too, but crank was much more stable (does rock around on things like docking and undocking laptops).

B) I notice my neighbors -- even though they went with electric (maybe the perceived value that it's worth more or more expensive) usually never adjust their desk to standing position. In fact this week every cube/office I had to visit for collaboration I notice no one with electric desk are in standing position. My neighbor had tried to stand for a few hours, got tired, and readjust back to sitting, and never stood again. My personal experience for those are are going to be new to standing, the first 1 to 2 months are the most difficult. You need to fight the temptation to sit as much as possible. Ironically you think the crank style would be more of a inconvenience to use for those true to standing, but no. The electric ends up providing a crutch to many who tries and gives up. -- my $0.02 cents.

I recommend a bar-stool height style chair. So you rarely need to adjust the desk's height. If you really need to sit, sit on the tall char so your viewing heigh matches when you're standing. That way most of the time when you walk into your office, the desk is already at standing position, and it motivates you to stand more often for work.

I got one on the 21st and the 22nd. Different codes, and both said they expired in 24 hours. However, and this is IMPORTANT, the one I had for the 21st still worked for me.
