Refurbished Yamaha TSR-5810 (RX-V581) at Frys w/email code $200

Yamaha TSR-5810 7.2-Channel MusicCast A/V Receiver $30 off with todays coupon code. $100 less than the last deal that a lot of people got in on for new ones.

Good price on a decent receiver. The only thing that may be missing are the pre-outs, but that won't be a problem for the majority. Hopefully these are just returns.

Do you know if these ended up being returns or actual refurbs? What's the warranty like? Pretty good deal honestly...trying to decide between this and the 681 from Amazon for $100 more

Never know, but I think there should be a factory refurb sticker on it, or something. Factory refurbs can be good because they are usually good as new. Returns are hit and miss because Frys is known not to really test them. As long as you put it through it's paces, and do a quick inspection, you should be able to tell if it's ok before the return period is up. I grabbed a Frys Denon refurb a few years back for $200, and haven't had any issues so far. Either way, there should be plenty of deals in this price range.

To the audio experts on this forum. I am a beginner in audio receivers. the price looks good for the features, would you recommend this vs onkyo, pioneer, or denon?

Could anyone comment on how this compares with Onkyo TX-NR656? I got open refurbished Onkyo model for $230 but I can return it..

Edit: Onkyo seems like a much better option Smilie

I think general consensus is Denon is better but usually more expensive.

I know this would have sounded ridiculous for this price point just 1-2 years ago, but I need/expect more than four HDMI inputs.
