these suck up vampire power
about 8 watts ea and you will never see true speeds probably 1/4 speed what is advertised

That is a heck of trick since the max power consumption on these is 2.6 watts. They use less than a half a watt with no traffic.

damn, they changed the deal... it's now $15 off $40 for $35... crap, i really wanted these for $20 just to play with, oh well.

Hm. Looks like Newegg jacked the price. Price is $49.99 and the code is $15. final price is $34.99 and not $19.99

What exactly could i use these for can anybody explain, seems like an extender but whats the deal with the wall socket

These provide a pseudo wired connection for homes not wired for ethernet. They use your existing electrically wiring to deliver an internet connection. So, one is located near your router where the internet connection is supplied and the other in another location in the house where you wish to connect clients by ethernet.

Most real world likely would be 1/2 to a 1/4 of rated speeds, but this one is rates at gigabit speeds so still good for the price!!

At $35 dollars this deal is no longer a great deal, still "good". Has pass-through which is great - speed is OK, won't get anything near 1000mbps.
