Tax kills it. Plus.... NO HD Radio. so a downgrade from 2016 if you care about the tuner like I do.

Do you have the 6300?. I noticed Crutchfield shows the 6300 has HD. However, When I looked on the Denon site and compared the 6300, 6400, and 7200... only the 7200 showed that it had HD. I don't listen to FM so not a big deal to me, but I understand your concern. Initially I was going to get the 6300 (on sale many places) but some more research on AVS forum and other audio visual sites showed that the the 6300 "early year" production models had a hiss or some kind of noise in some surround modes. Supposedly Denon will fix that and "if you're lucky, or if you'll get a 6300 that had the issue already fixed in the production line (late in the production year).
Based on those reports... I've been waiting to get a 6400 when discounted from a retailer that Denon honors. The 6400 amazon link above is "Amazon shipped" Prime, rand not a third party retailer (that Denon does not always honor for potential warranty work)

additionally... I tried to get Crutchfield to PM this deal since they will price match for Amazon shipped items as well as Best Buy, etc. Unfortunately, they have a disclaimer that during Black Friday weekend... they won't PM 😞 😞
So, I ordered the 6400 from Amazon and am willing to pay the tax. I don't think this price will remain until Monday when Crutchfield would PM (no tax and free shipping)
Have a great day 😃

Edit:... Cancelled Amazon order and Called BH and was PM'ed.... THANKS for posting

I just picked up a 3400H for $488 but I would much rather have yours!

I know all that you said and your Receiver is MADE IN JAPAN! you made the right move over the older model if it's around the same price.

FM section
Tuning frequency range 87.5 - 107.9 MHz
AM section
Tuning frequency range 520 kHz – 1710 kHz

No HD Radio! i was right.

I hear you... Thats a screaming deal! I just need a receiver thats fits into my existing set-up to support 2 zones already setup in the house (wires pulled, speakers in ceiling, etc.) AND still utilize ATMOS. Take care and have a good one.

I got this last month for my 11.2 setup with reference series klipsch setup. Its awesome. The 7400 will be released in spring but its 11.2 with external amp only like the current 7200.

These are great receivers. I don't see any value in upgrading from a 6300 though.

I tried B&H chat but they said I had to email price match requests in. I was able to call in and get the price match but without the Heos speaker. Oh well, I don't really need the speaker.

Guys, really torn between getting this or waiting for the AVR-X4400/4300 to go on sale. Is it worth the extra $800 or so?
