Waste of money as the 1000 series is far less right now WMart with $15 rebate and Amazon with $10 instant
did they change it so that the 1000 has the same rpm/pulses as the higher models? I know it used to be that the 1000 and 2000 models were inferior...

No, but like the vast majority of items here, the 1000 model will be suitable for the masses. All that really matters is the brush heads are interchangeable, the rest is fluff and even the difference in brush strokes for the purpose of the intent of the product is fine.

If that's the case, I'd still recommend getting the better 3000 model or better version. It depends on what you need, because some people might actually want a different brushing mode. Myself, I really only use 2 features. I use the strongest brushing mode and the 30sec timer. The timer is huge (for me) because it keeps me on track and gets thorough and very consistent brushing every single time.

For most people, if it has the timer, I think that's the most important feature.

I have 7000 and Diamond Clean. I prefer the 7000. I find it much more maneuverable and precise. Diamon Clean gets a lather up quicker though... can't lose with either

I have 5000 and diamond clean, 5000 battery is awful I can use the DC 2.5 weeks before charging, oral b goes 6 days needs charged.
I do agree oral b is easier to maneuver

The f timer is exactly why I switched from using 3000/5000 to the 1000. The toothbrush should not pause every 30 secs. The beeping is loud enough to hear.

Great deal on 8000, matches FP deal from 3 weeks ago - https://slickdeals.net/f/10718800-oral-b-genius-pro-8000-rechargeable-electric-toothbrush-w-bluetooth-96-50-free-shipping

note the last deal expired pretty quickly because the stacking coupons are likely an error so if you're interested these stacking coupons I'd buy quick!

I ordered the 6000 to replace my old toothbrush (didn't need extra mode from 8000 plus have extra brush heads still around). With provided coupon and code, it came down to $49 before taxes (IL).
