LG Tribute 2 (refurbished) Android Smartphone for TextNow + 3GB of LTE data + free shipping for $3.98

TextNow is currently offering $20 off with promo code "blackfriday." TextNow runs off the Sprint network.

The LG Tribute 2 (refurbished) is $9.99. This phone has the Snapdragon 410.

$9.99 + $13.99 = $23.98 - $20 (promo code: "blackfriday") = $3.98. I wasn't charged any tax.

The lowest plan monthly plan is Grande for $13.99 for the first month, $27.99 after that. Be sure the cancel the service before the month is over, consider before Christmas.

Yes, this is a terrible phone, but it's $4. Plus 3GB of LTE seems fun.

Alternatively, these Android smartphones are also available.

Alcatel Dawn (refurbished) is $4.99. $4.99 + $13.99 = $18.98 - $20 = $0.00 (FREE). This phone is tragic.
Alcatel OneTouch Elevate (refurbished) is $7.99. $7.99 + $13.99 = $21.98 - $20 = $1.98. Low end.
LG K3 (refurbished) is $7.99. $7.99 + $13.99 = $21.98 - $20 = $1.98. Low end.
HTC Bolt (new) is $89.99. $89.99 + $13.99 = $103.98 - $20 = $83.98. This phone has the Snapdragon 810.

And before anyone asks, these phones are improbable to unlock. Expect to be locked to TextNow indefinitely.

As OP said - the phones are not unlockable. This is taken from TextNow's website:

Quote :
Our phones are sold unlocked, but the custom ROM we put on it is only able to work with the TextNow service. (It's not CyanogenMod, incidentally: It's a custom and proprietary ROM developed in-house by our engineers.)

The Moto E we sell is a CDMA/LTE device only, as well, so it can't actually access GSM networks. The only networks the phone would work with are Sprint and Sprint subsidiaries like Boost or Virgin Mobile.

The tribute 2 [textnow.com] looks like a little more phone for $2 more as well (Snapdragon 410 vs 210).

It runs off Sprint so I don't see why not. There is no cost to port your number in and out of TextNow.

The Bolt is a ridiculous deal. Extremely easy to unlock too. $83 for a $150+ phone, $200 if it is actually new in box.

From what I've read, textnow phones are already unlocked, they just have a proprietary ROM that prevents you from using any other service. I've googled and haven't found a way to get around this...
