Please note that this is the PLUS model, it comes with a multimedia remote and has a quad core CPU rather than the dual core that the standard TS-451 has.

currently on back order, but it should ship. choose cheapest shipping, pay with GBP and use a credit card with no foreign transaction fee. should be around $340, depending on how your bank converts the currency and any fluctuation of US/UK currency. if your card charges a fee for purchasing with currency other than USD, it might still be worth purchasing with USD and taking a 3% conversion fee because amazon charges about 5%.

in the US this thing sells between $450-$500. it should ship as i bought this exact unit at a price even lower than this from amazon UK/DE a few times before. it do IT work for more than a dozen companies, i buy these all the time for backups/DVR/file servers/running Unifi server/etc.

DEAL IS DEAD as of 11/25. price has been corrected. sorry

dude, in Europe sales tax (aka VAT) is INCLUDED in the price. European law dictates that prices must be advertised as final amounts the person would have to pay. sales tax in Europe range from 20-28%

however, when you buy from US, the sales tax is taken off at check out, and shipping is only 5 quid. the actual check out price is 256 quid.

how do people not know this? have you never been to Europe? when you buy junk in Europe, you can get your sales taxes back at the airport before you leave the UE. you get like 15-20% back of the total amount you spent on goods, depending on which country you were in.

Yeah, I forgot about the VAT thing. It comes out to about $335 USD, though..kinda crazy the shipping is only about $5, too

at the current exchange rate, 256 GBP = 340.9923 USD. and that's very good.

What about import duties? In order for AmazonGlobal to cover them, does the shipping option have to be AmazonGlobal priority/economy etc or will the standard 5 GBP shipping cover the import duties?

Also the power adapter, is the typical 120-230V and I just need to get a UK plug to US plug adapter?

Maybe it just requires swapping the power cord for the adapter, or is the power cord permanently affixed to the adapter?

i forgot to mention that. you have to swap the power cable. it's the same cable used on all desktop computers, PSUs and many household appliances. i didn't think to mention it because i got about a zillion of those laying around and never really thought about that. the external PSU that comes with this thing can take any voltage, 100-240V

i was ever bothered about the import duties. there are many SD post about deals from europe's amazon sites. i don't think anyone ever mentioned being charged anything.

the units are are not really comparable. 451+ has a CPU that is about 15% faster, but has 2 NICs vs 4 NICs on the 453A. 453A also has a front display for basic diagnostics info. 451+ is advertised for home use while the 453A is advertised for business use.

personally, i prefer the more powerful CPU in this unit. it's an older model CPU (Intel Celeron J1900 vs N3150), but it is still faster.

i don't think so, but i don't own any 4k TVs or monitors, so i can't even test that for you. 453A however does support 4k output for sure.
