When using the Fi trade-in program a few months ago, I got $110 + $50 in Fi credit. I like my Moto X4 - it responds faster than my Nexus 6.

Use the Device trade-in link. It would depend on a few factors.

Current trade-in value is $80 if you follow the link and put in details like "works" and "not cracked".

Am I correct in that the Android One version will only work on Google Fi, but it seems like the unlocked version of Moto x4 can still be brought to Google Fi.

Good deal, used it already.

They have reduced the trade-in values for (at least) some phones (few days earlier it showed $100 for my Nexus 6 32 Gb, but today it only gave $80 -which is still not too bad).

Also, it showed the delivery date of Moto X4 for me as Nov 30-Dec 04 (regular shipping, you can pay more to expedite), but the promo said:
Limited-time offer of $100 Fi service credit with the purchase and activation of an Android One Moto X4 from Project Fi in the U.S. starting November 24, 2017 at 12:01 AM PT through November 30, 2017 at 11:59 PM PT or while supplies last."

Which is a problem considering there's no way to activate the new phone before they deliver it!
But I checked with a customer agent and he clarified "once you place the order for Moto x4 within this promo time frame, irrespective of the delivery date, you will still be eligible for the offer."

So should be fine. Thanks for posting the deal!

Fi sim activates only on Android one version of x4 not on regular version to use fi full capabilities like network switching Android one x4 works perfect
edit : phones sold by Google

All versions of this phone are unlocked and have the same bands so they should work with any provider. This includes the Android One version.

HOWEVER....apparently if you want on Project Fi you need the "Android One" edition. Downsides to that edition are no built in Alexa and no adoptable storage.

I chatted with Google and the rep said that the regular unlocked version will work on Google Fi. This seems to be advertised on the Fi page as well. https://fi.google.com/about/phones/ [google.com] shows the Android One Moto X4 and the Moto X4 as both being compatible with Google Fi. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. I guess the big difference is that the Android One version will receive updates from Google.

Any version of Moto X4 should work on Project if and not just android one. Also you would get the credit if you activate the phone within 30 days of delivery and not just within the promotion period.

I am wondering why you didn't go for a Pixel. I want to know if a Moto X4 (Android One) for $300 performs better than last year's Pixel for $350-$400.
