The bulbs feature a 270° beam angle, dimmable light, customized scheduling, and compatibility with iOS, Android, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant. No hub is required to use this light bulb; simply download and install the free Kasa app to customize schedules and adjust settings. -slickdewmaster

Limited supply at this price. Just ordered two more. I have 8 of these in my house and they work great for me using my Alexa devices.

Wi-Fi connectivity eliminates the need for a hub

The Hue requires a hub, so you will need to either buy the latest Echo with hub or a Phillps hub to use this. If you already have one of those or plan to buy one to use with other devices, then it is probably a better deal.

The TP-Link can work stand-alone with their Kasa app (with no additional devices) or with any Alexa version. I think it can work with other smart devices, but I only have a gen1 Echo.

Any idea about the longevity of these? Are early burn-outs covered by warranty?

FYI the Yeelights on Amazon will run on wifi and work with Alexa/Google for $15 per bulb or $25 for colored bulbs. There was a clip coupon for 1 colored bulb for $20 if you want to try them out. They are the Xiaomi lights but have better color than the tp-link imo

How does this stack up against the Sengled bulbs on Amazon for $9.99/bulb (or cheaper if you buy in a 4 pack or 8 pack)?

I'm interested in picking these up because the color of the bulbs can change along with the sun. Some LED bulbs only dim and some are multicolored, but I'm not sure how well those tune along with the warm yellows.

Enable Circadian mode to allow the bulb to dynamically adjust both the light intensity and color temperature to mimic the natural changes in daylight throughout the day.

I have these and Philips Hue with the hub. These lights are better than the phillips hue basic white since you are able to dial in color temperatures, but Kasa isn't supported by as many other devices like Hue is. My Harmony Hub can dim my Hue lights but not these when I'm in movie mode, nor can my nest turn them off when in Away mode. Right now I'm only using these lights outside and in the landing so they'll automatically turn on at sunset.

If you just need a few lights that you can control with your phone, google home, or amazon echo then these are good if you haven't bought into any other ecosystem. Personally I prefer these bulbs to the hue, but they don't work with as much so you're limited to what you can do with them.
