Cannot quote post if in the "classic" forum thread page ["view forum thread"]

What seems to be happening when you either click "reply" on the 'classic' forum thread design is it takes you to the advanced editor page, and instead of inserting the quote into the box, it takes you directly to the comment.

Of course, this problem doesn't occur when you're in the 'newer' forum thread page.

I couldn't get multi-quote to work in the 'classic' forum thread either.

I noticed it yesterday (found myself on the classic view somehow and was replying to a post). I have tried Chrome (v.62.0.3202.94) and Firefox (Quantum) and Edge on both my desktop and laptop (noticed problem on desktop).

Here is a screen capture of what's happening:

For some odd reason, it didn't take me directly to the comment as I previously mentioned, but nonetheless the quote wasn't appearing.

thanks for the video and the report... i was able to replicate it so the devs should be able to as well (and thus fix). tl;dw for anyone counting, it appears that something is broken with replies in redesign in thread view.

thanks again!

I posted this same issue a few days ago. Glad to hear that the devs can fix it - it's extremely annoying!

Is there some way we can disable this new behavior to go to the advanced editor in the meantime?
