Very similar, with this you get the newer gen processor (a few MHz faster) and different graphics card with similar specs. I believe the SSD of the other one is SATA instead of PCIe. This one is a newer version, Flex 5 vs Flex 4, but performance wise I think it's very very close

The graphics on this are significantly better than the $499 one (which is out of stock anyways). To me, an extra $50 was well worth it for a better graphics card, processor (Intel 7th gen vs 6th), a USB-C port, and fingerprint reader. Definitely in for one.

Good deal.

I was going to go with the Flex-4, but this one seems better. I think the extra $50 is worth the upgrades here.

Just cancelled my Staples order from yesterday - this one is a better deal:
+dedicated graphics
+bigger battery (3 cell vs 2 cell)
+~10$ cheaper compared to the Staples deal

How does this compare to this

https://slickdeals.net/f/10827483-lenovo-ideapad-510s-14-laptop-i7-7500u-8gb-ddr4-256gb-ssd-520-after-50-slickdeals-rebate-free-s-h?src=SiteSearch

I would be using this for light video editing - nothing intensive such as 3d, 4k or any major fx.

I am not an expert and I was following the Slickdeals thread to buy a laptop for me.

The one you mentioned is a regular "laptop" and not flexible like the Flex 5 notebook. The one you cited isn't a touch screen too. So, if you are keen on touch screen, want it to bend any direction, I think Flex 5 might be better option.

Again, I am not an expert on nitty gritties of these items.Smilie
