Great deal, I picked this up at $1239 last week on AAFES. I opened up the Military Star Card to get 10% first purchase, which will bring it down to $1115.

FYI, shipping seems very slow on this site. I ordered on Monday and the TV is being shipped through a non UPS/FedEx company, Seko Logistics. Only the shipping label has been created after five days, says TV will be delivered on 12/1. We shall see.

Wow, you got a better deal. ive been keeping my eye on this TV, apparently not good enough though. I have ordered 2 ipads and a PS4 and all 3 arrived in a few days, hopefully the TV comes just as quick. I see Seko Logistics in only about 40miles away from me, not sure if that matters though

Yea, the Navy Exchange had it for $1299. I price matched with AAFES and then used a $60 Veterans Day coupon to bring it to $1239. $1279 is still a no brainer though.

Can anyone comment on how good this TV is? how does it compare to the $1500 55" LG OLED?

The OLED is better. You can do a side by side TV comparison Here [rtings.com]

Maybe they would if you show them that you are or were in the military

Overall, just about any OLED is better than LCD. Go with OLED if you want the best and aren't concerned about burn-in or know how to prevent it.

But as far as LCD screens go, the X900e is one of the best and this is an amazing price for it.

I have a C series 2016 OLED and it is the best TV I have ever seen PQ wise. At least on my model, burn in does not exist. I have left it paused on tivo many times and a screensaver comes on to avoid burn in.
This Sony looked unbelievable in the store. Maybe not as good as OLED but better than any of the other LED's.
I ordered this from ABT because I am not active military.---1499 minus discover double cash back brings it down to 1320 for me. And I will do price match in the next 90 I'm sure...so at the end of the day it will probably be close to 1k. For a 65" mid to high end tv that's awesome. I will let you all know to see how it compares to my OLED.
