It's junk and not meant to last. It worked well about the first 20 times and now it throws random readings like 40° when the chicken is 150° and the alarm doesn't woek anymore either

Taylor thermometers are fairly cheap and have worked well for me. I bought a cool set from Target a few years ago that had a simple timer, remote flip-up thermometer/timer, and two basic instant-read meat thermometers for about $25. They're all close to each as far as temp goes and compare well to others I use when calibrating them.

I've used this for the smoker. It's under several brands. It works ok. You have to check the probes. Sometimes the actual sensor doesn't stay in the end of the steel tube. It's an ok deal. I think I paid $10.
