So, I've had this for month now and it's easily my favorite Bluetooth speaker BY FAR.

-Yes, it's probably not going to match the Sonos, but it's $50 less, MUCH MORE PORTABLE, water proof, doesn't need to be plugged in, etc. Overall, a more versatile package.
-Abiilty to use low energy Bluetooth. This means I can turn the speaker on with my phone/tablet.
-VERY GOOD EQ option for "cramped spaces" that perfectly suits a shower or putting it up against a wall. Keeps it from being overally boomy and losing voice clarity.
-Alarm that gradually increase volume and plays last app, ie. this plays Spotify for me and I just let it roll into my shower wake up music.
-Take speaker into shower, again, that eq option for cramped spaces is very helpful.
-While in the shower, I can hold it and slap it twice, slap it really nice, just like that to skip a song.
-of course, there's volume buttons
-I don't have to disconnect from one device to connect from another, very solid pairing.

It's just very very convenient. Sometimes I'll put it on the vacuum cleaner or way way up high hanging from the ceiling or resting on the blinds. Also, this speaker does an excellent job of spreading the sound around.

It's my little buddy in the morning. hug

Also, EQ like this helps in shower:

Edit that didn't work, but you want an upward staircase with equal spacing from left to right.

A couple of friends have Sonos speakers, and the thing that they like most about the Sonos, is the Sonos App for playing music, and not getting BT alerts and so on. I have held back because of the price tag. After reading your review/feedback, I was thinking to get 2 Megaboom, but I see there is a crazy deal on Sonos for $119 https://slickdeals.net/f/10967339-sonos-play-1-black-and-white-for-119-2-tax-for-some
Seems like a no brainer, right?

I think it really depends on your use case.

I THINK the Sonos is unidirectional, right? The Megaboom puts out a nearly 360 degree sound field and tho it might not sound as good, it fills the room with sound and is ideal for background music.

If you're not planning on moving it from place to place, don't need it in the shower, don't mind the cord, or the narrower sound field, the Sonos might be a better bet.

I would think the Sonos app would have the ability to turn on or off (tho this may be unecessary) and change EQ (tho this may be unecessary).

Why not grab both and try them out? ApplausePeaceCool

Oh yeah, if you do this and find the Megaboom to sound like absolute balls compared to the Sonos, there's no need to come back here and post about it. Just keep that info to yourself.
