Thanks. Missed it before, and held off on the Anova deals as I don't think I'd use the Wifi or BT capabilities much.

Good price, picked one up last time it was on sale. Have used it for steak, fish, etc. Might as well pick up another for a christmas gift.

Somebody tell me the 20% off code BF2017 didn't ever work for this, so I don't feel like I missed it by 40 mins.

Only valid for 11/24, feel good about your purchase now lol

Bought the anova that was on sale but after using it the wifi is not useful to me and the system was rather buggy. Will give this a try and probably return the anova (not to mention the $50 price difference)

Well, that was the thing...I missed 11/24 by just 40 mins by the time I saw this deal. But now I know it never worked for it anyway. So yes good feels all around.

I so hope that everyone's hyperbole about sous vide is justified.

I have one, and it's great. I recently learned that a better method for steaks is called reverse searing, and the results are better than sous vide in my opinion. It takes less time and is less messy and easier especially if cooking more than one steak at a time.
1. Set oven to 200 Fahrenheit
2. place steaks on a cooling rack to allow airflow
3. cook for 1 hour
4. take out and sear.

Less time and ease is just use a hot cast iron skillet for a few minutes and be done with it at once. Like normal.

That extra 0.25 mm of red isn't worth that long of a cook.

corned beef is amazing sous vide, salmon is great, along with any pork.

chicken i stick to baking still, steak I also still just grill or use pan.

I bought this last month and I own the anova 900w.... this works just as well!

Notes: I let my uncle borrow the Anova and figured for 50... might as well test it out.
