From MSI
The 942-pin socket count for the AM3+ is an increase of one over the AM3 Socket's 941-pin socket layout. The AM3+ Socket has larger pin socket diameter of 0.51 mm compared to 0.45 mm with the AM3 Socket.

Your mobo is AM3

MSI MS-7623 (v2.x) mainboard is a version of boards. You have another number for your actual board

for those that hate spelling mistakes www.walmarts.comCool

bulb save money by checking your insurance every 2 years (and not every 20) Thanks Liberty Mutual for reminding me to shop. The $842 increase this year sums it up. Across the board increase for Ohio....whatever

Read his definition of the two platforms. They sound different enough to me it wont fit.

They do say some boards will support AM3+ with a bios update. not all 940ish pins used. They originally said it wouldn't work

This is 2011 stuff.
